Simply Life: Seattle!

We’re back home now, safe and sound. Seattle was amazing! We visited so many places, and I took so many pictures (like, 1400!) and I’ve narrowed it down to a few that I wanted to share with you. Enjoy!Okay, so maybe that’s more than a few, but I hope you enjoyed them. We had such a fun time! We loved the aquarium, the Pacific Science Center, especially the butterfly house, the Space Needle (even though I’m not a fan of heights), and especially Pike Place! I could have spent the entire weekend there. The Piers were amazing, and so full of color and cute little shops. We loved Ivar’s; I’ve never had a better meal!

All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better trip. There were a few moments of disillusionment—like when the first thing we saw coming into town was a naked homeless person washing their clothes in a fountain (which was a bit traumatic…)—but we realized that it’s a city just like any other, with fantastic sights, great food, and wonderful places to explore.

We’re glad to be back, but we had an amazing experience in a great city! We’ll definitely be going back, if only so I get some fresh fish and chips!

  1. It looks like you had a blast!! I’ve never been to Seattle, but it’s on my list! I like that picture of your husband in the middle there. 🙂 You guys are a cute couple!

  2. Seattle is one of the American cities I hope to visit one day. Your photos are lovely.

And you are right about cities being cities — I felt the same way about the few homeless people we saw in Paris in 2002.

    • Thank you! I love taking pictures, and we were lucky to be able to borrow an amazing camera for the trip.

My friend was telling me about Paris; she said it’s not much like the romantic, picture-perfect way people expect it to be. I think most places are like that, but there are always amazing things to be seen no matter what.

    • We had a fantastic time! And that’s definitely my new favorite picture of myself. Travis was snapping so many of me every time he had the camera, he was bound to get a good one. 🙂
