I recently asked on Facebook what people wanted to read and got a response to do a post about other blogs that I read. Not all of them are about simplicity because I have many other interests, but I hope you enjoy them.
Smallnotebook: This is the blog that inspired me to begin my own. Rachel lives in Texas and writes about simplicity in a way that is succinct and easy. She writes about everything from cooking to style to how to clean your back room. My first introduction to the blogosphere was reading every single post in her archives, and it was completely worth it.
Simplemom and Simple Living Media: Simplemom and the rest of Simple Living Media (found through the links on the top of the Simplemom page) is run by Tsh Oxenreider and is a great resource if you are looking for a strong community and lots of helpful tips. She also wrote a book called Organized Simplicity which I own and is a fantastic resource for beginning and sustaining a simple life. I also read Simple Homeschool regularly, and will use it more when I am researching schooling options in depth.
Soulemama: Amanda Soule writes soulemama, and this blog is less about tips and tricks, and more about the everyday workings of her family. I can’t help but live vicariously through them and imagine what my life would be like if I were an unschooling, farming, bee-keeping, knitting family of seven in Maine. In fact, she makes it seem so appealing, I’ve actually looked into doing all of those things.
Nameberry: This is actually a website, but a large part of it is a blog that updates every few days. This site is about names, which I totally geek out about on a regular basis. I like to refer to myself as an onomatologist, but really, I’m just a big, fat name nerd. And yes, it’s an real thing; there are actually people who are obsessed with names and I’m one of them.
Preg! By Nancy: This is a new blog by a pregnant woman in California named Nancy. All I can say about this blog is that it is insanely hilarious. For all my LDS friends, it does swear a bit, so only read it if you are comfortable with that, but it is hands-down one of the funniest things I have ever read.
There are quite a few more blogs that I stumble upon and read occasionally, but these are the ones that I check on a regular basis and if you like the style and content of my blog, you should definitely check out the top three. They are linked here, but they are also always linked on the side of my blog.
I also wanted to add a link to an article I wrote on Facebook. It’s called Why Feminism Ruined Star Wars and is meant to be funny and informative.
Any other suggestions of blogs that I should know and love?
